Kindergarten Cop Vs. The GooniesMichael P. Bellantoni

(special thanks to a gentleman who prefers to think of himself as another Mary Shelley)

This is it. A skegs-fulcrum has been reached, and there is no turning back. In the age of:
Neo-Retro design, God as bubble wrap and The Virgin Mother in edibles; David Byrne inspired rock, Mashed-Up-Re-Mixes, R. Kelly or Kanye auto-tuned; the manatee-written Family Guy, everything in trilogies, drooling on your loved ones, run on sentences from the morbese, the fantasy of Kevin Spacey in a Thundercats movie, Taikonauts, the lady who came out with twin black& white babies- twice (look it up, it’s crazy;) we have been given Kindergarten Cop vs. The Goonies. There are ways to complete your life, and this is one of them.

Marty’s Long Lost Dance Quintet Notes (Big Lebowski)Molly

1. GREAT beginning! I love the use of the screen. Simply silhouetted dance moves are truly beautiful.

2. Beautiful costume. Full body stocking was a great idea. It makes us think you’re naked, but you’re actually not! One piece of constructive criticism, though, if you really want this piece to go places I suggest real leaves rather than faux.

3. Who is the choroegrapher and how can I get in touch with her/him? Just kidding, Marty, I know you choreographed this. It’s great. It really is. I’m sure Mort Guffman would love it as well. Except as we all know he often doesn’t feel like showing up to shows which he promised to attend.

4. Another thing about the choreography, when you do a sort of pike jump, I believe The Dude did that in a dream once. How’s that for a compliment, eh?

5. Marty, did you know that you’re a YouTube celebrity? You’re a real one too because not only are you on there, but there are about twenty videos of other people doing your moves.

6. Great music choice.

7. Love the “cycle” theme.

8. I know there weren’t very many people in the audience and three of them were busy talking about Branded and burgers, but don’t worry man. You’ll catch your break. I was enraptured by your performance.

9. That about sums it up. Wonderful. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for your dance/choreogrpahy career.

One Of Your DVDs (due 2/23)Todd McArthur

dvdsThis one’s simple:  just pick a movie in your DVD collection and create something inspired by it.  It could be a drawing of your favorite Ghostbuster, a song inspired by that time Aladdin split his stolen bread with the street rat kids, a sculpture of Vito Corleone with an orange in his mouth, anything.  It would be nice if it wasn’t something based on your favorite DVD, otherwise we’d all end up with Lord of the Rings fanart, right?  Right.

The hope is that since you went through all the trouble of buying the DVD, you’re passionate enough about it to want to make some art.  And please, nothing from your Laserdisc and/or HD-DVD collections.  That’s just ridiculous.
